Councillor Alan Luckraft
I was born in Halifax, Yorkshire, and have lived from London to Scotland but mainly in Northern England. I settled in this area almost 40 years ago and have lived in Brough for 12 years. I am the treasurer of a local charitable trust.
I was elected to the town council as a Liberal Democrat in 2015. I have served on several council committees, am the transport champion and am the council's representative on the Community Centre management committee.
I am concerned that the new housing has not been matched by new facilities. A road connection to the Melton Junction and more parking at Brough Station are needed. The rail companies could extend the car parks over the disused platform lines. The future of the few extra facilities that are available is also in doubt. The library's hours have been cut and this reduces the viability of the community centre.
