Elloughton cum Brough Village Hall Playground

Whilst the government announced playgrounds could reopen as of Saturday, 04 July 2020, Elloughton cum Brough Town Council have taken the difficult decision to delay the opening of this playground until all appropriate and reasonable precautions to adhere to government guidelines and legislation have been completed.

Thank you for your patience.

Marie Curie Campaign and Grieving Support Services Available

Help spread the word about the charity Marie Curie's bereavement support service available, as well as, their campaign for a National Day of reflection after lockdown.

Bereavement support
Grieving can feel isolating enough without social distancing. Many people bereaved during lockdown have been unable to properly say goodbye to loved ones, comfort or even hug each other. If they can't get the support they need, they will be more likely to struggle with the long term effects of grief.
To help, Marie Curie offers a free bereavement support service. Anyone who is grieving can access up to six telephone sessions with a matched volunteer by calling 0800 090 2309. Further details as well as online information and support is available here: www.mariecurie.org.uk/help/support/telephone-bereavement-support.

National Day of reflection

Over 150,000 people across the UK have now sadly died of all conditions since lockdown began on 23 March. After lockdown is fully lifted, we’ll be in desperate need of time and space to collectively support those who have lost someone during this time, #UniteInMemory of all who sadly die and celebrate their lives.
You can show your support by signing Marie Curie’s petition for a National Day of reflection here: www.mariecurie.org.uk/who/day-to-reflect. Easy links to share the petition via WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter are available after signing.
Please also consider following Marie Curie on Facebook (www.facebook.com/mariecurieuk) and Twitter (www.twitter.com/mariecurieuk) for updates on the support they offer.

Keep Britain Tidy Campaign Against Littering

Over the last few weeks and months, there has been an increase in littering, such as fly tipping and dog fouling, in Elloughton cum Brough and across the UK. We've paired up with Keep Britain Tidy to spread the word that this is unacceptable, even more so in these challenging times. Lets work together as a community to keep Elloughton cum Brough looking beautiful and ensure the time, energy and funds of our local authorities is put elsewhere.
