Queen's Jubilee Street Party

  • Elloughton cum Brough Town Council 60 Welton Road Brough, HU15 1BH United Kingdom (map)

Here in Elloughton cum Brough Town Council we are encouraging everyone to host a Street Party to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee on Sunday 5th June from 12pm onwards.

This can be a small sherry and a catch up between doorsteps or a big, all-inclusive, bring-your-own plate knees up! It’s up to you, however big or small you’d like to go.

Here’s a few pointers to get you started:

Invite people to join in - You’ll be able to gauge how big or small your event will be by the responses you receive back.

Notify everyone of the time & place - We’re suggesting Sunday 5th June 2022 from 12pm onwards.

Invite everyone to bring something to the party! - Whether it be food, knives & forks, tables, chairs, decorations, keep everyone updated with a Facebook or Whatsapp group too.

Think of some games to play - How’s about getting both adults and kids involved with a Jubilee Sports Day or a Jubilee Quiz? Maybe some traditional street games like hop-scotch?

Create a party atmosphere - Decorate your tables and chairs with jam jars of flowers, get the little ones to make colourful paper chains or make posters to welcome everyone to the party.

Dress your table - As well as making your table look beautiful with red, white and blue… or purple, think about how you’ll label food and notify your guests of ingredients for those with allergies or intolerances. If it’s a warm day, you may need to consider how you’ll keep food fresh and drinks chilled.
