Children and residents in Elloughton-cum-Brough are set to get a new piece of playground equipment, after successfully securing funding for the project.
The £15,544.00 grant from FCC Communities Foundation, as well as additional funding by Elloughton-cum-Brough Town Council of £4,114.98, will be used to purchase ‘The Jungle’ from Playscheme, a large piece of equipment suitable for ages 5+ at the Elloughton Road playground.
Cllr. Marinos Loizides, Chairman of Elloughton-cum-Brough Town Council believes the new piece of equipment will provide ‘a real boost to the playground and to the children of Elloughton-cum-Brough’.
He says, “Elloughton-cum-Brough Town Council is focused on increasing the opportunities for young people in its community. This project will positively contribute towards that goal. It’s fantastic that FCC Communities Foundation has awarded us this money and we’re really looking forward to the installation of the playground equipment over the next few months.”
FCC Communities Foundation is a not-for-profit business that awards grants for community projects through the Landfill Communities Fund.
Cheryl Raynor, FCC Community Foundations local grant manager says: “We are delighted to be supporting the Council to bring this project to fruition, the new piece of equipment will make a real difference to the children and encourage further use of this already well used facility. We look forward to work starting shortly.
Elloughton cum Brough Town Council hopes the new piece of equipment will be installed and ready to use by February.
